Being pregnant, how do you deal with upcoming holidays?
I love holiday season!
Awful. I can only eat limited foods.
It makes me feel suffocated because I can't move freely.
Happy for the new member of the family's arrival!

Pregnancy is one of women’s most significant milestones in life. With primarily physical and lifestyle changes in the forefront, women also succumb to emotional shifts, anxiety, and worry as their hormones become heightened. Aside from that, women also experience unusual eating habits and changes in the functional processes of the body. But what do these symptoms suggest?
If you are trying to conceive a child and may be wondering what signs of pregnancy are most common, then you should start by checking the following:
1. Missed Menstrual Period
Women assume that a missed period equates to having a baby soon. This is possible when you have a regular monthly period and you keep track of your cycle. Sometimes, women who are still unprepared to have a baby become anxious of the thought of a missed period, thus relating it automatically to pregnancy. But missed periods may also result from stress due to school, work, or problems in the family.
2. Fatigue
Expectant women usually feel stressed out or get easily tired during pregnancy. Rising hormones would be the main cause so extra precaution is needed. However, fatigue may also be attributed to a hectic lifestyle wherein there is less time monitoring one’s health.
3. Fainting and Vomiting
On a colloquial level, morning sickness includes feeling nauseous and throwing up, not just in the morning but the entire day as well. Sensitivity to certain smell of food can trigger gagging. Sometimes, even the mere sight of a specific food makes women throw up. During pregnancy, the type of food you normally eat would sometimes make you sick because of the changes in your body.
4. Spotting
Early pregnancy symptoms include vaginal bleeding or spotting – light pink or brown in color –
which happens because of the implantation of the fertilized egg in the uterus lining. Spotting only has light discharges which can occur a week before the expected menstrual period. Sometimes, women confuse spotting with the blood due to menstruation. If you are unsure about this, you can immediately check this with your doctor.
5. Frequent Urination
Frequent urination during the initial stages of pregnancy is due to the human chorionic gonadotrophin (hCG)hormone responsible for recurring urination, especially at night.
6. Breast Tenderness and Swelling
Tenderness and swelling of the breasts are symptoms to watch out for. However, such symptom is also felt prior to or during the first day of menstruation. Aside from that, the areola or the skin around your nipple may change to a darker color.
7. Positive Pregnancy Test
Finally, a positive result on the test suggests that you are already conceiving a child. Home pregnancy tests require just a urine sample, but you may also want to take some blood tests for more accurate results. It would be advisable though to take two more home pregnancy tests after the first one to confirm the initial result.
If you experience several of these signs, then you might be pregnant. Visit your doctor for a check-up and for instant medical advice.
